Director
Mina Tadrous leads research focused on evaluating drug policies and post-marketing surveillance of medications. His work uses large, real-world data sets to assess medication safety and effectiveness and to improve the optimal use of medicines, in close collaboration with policymakers. Tadrous is a Scientist at the Women’s College Hospital Institute for Health System Solutions and Virtual Care (WIHV), an Investigator with the Ontario Drug Policy Research Network (ODPRN), and an Adjunct Scientist at ICES. He also holds a Tier 2 Canada Research Chair in Real-World Evidence and Pharmaceutical Policy.

Sara Guilcher is an innovative health services researcher and clinical epidemiologist whose work spans multiple disciplines. Her research focuses on optimizing health care delivery, experiences, outcomes, and well-being, with particular emphasis on transitions and integration of care, multimorbidity, disability, self-management, person-centred care, patient safety, hospital harm and deconditioning, alternate level of care and delayed discharge (“hallway medicine”), hip fracture, and spinal cord injury and dysfunction.

Lisa McCarthy’s research focuses on medication management and continuity of care, with the goal of reducing medication-related harm and improving patients’—particularly older adults’—experiences with their medications. Her work advances understanding of risk factors for medication-related harm and identifies strategies to optimize medication use across the health system. McCarthy’s research and clinical guidelines have had global impact on deprescribing practices. In Canada, her work has contributed to policy changes related to deprescribing and has informed educational standards that prepare future pharmacists to lead in medication management.

Quinn Grundy studies the interactions between medically related industries—including pharmaceutical and medical device companies—and public health systems, and the implications for health services delivery, evidence, and policy. She is an Associate Professor at the Lawrence Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing, with a cross-appointment at the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy. Grundy serves as Director of the WHO Collaborating Centre for Governance, Accountability, and Transparency in the Pharmaceutical Sector, and as Associate Director of Nursing for the Collaborative Centre for Climate, Health, and Sustainable Care. In these roles, she leads and supports efforts to improve the governance and sustainability of health technology systems through research, education, practice change, and policy development.

Muhammad Mamdani is Vice President of Data Science and Advanced Analytics at Unity Health Toronto and Director of the Temerty Faculty of Medicine Centre for Artificial Intelligence Education and Research in Medicine (T-CAIREM) at the University of Toronto. His work bridges advanced analytics, including machine learning, with clinical and management decision-making to improve patient outcomes and hospital efficiency. Mamdani is a Professor in the Departments of Medicine and the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy, and at the Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation in the Dalla Lana Faculty of Public Health. He is also an Adjunct Senior Scientist at ICES and a Faculty Affiliate at the Vector Institute.

Mike Folinas is the Director of Research Administration at the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy, where he supports strategic research planning, major funding programs, and institutional partnerships across the health sciences. As an ex officio member of T‑RWE, he provides operational and governance expertise that strengthens the Centre’s capacity to advance real‑world evidence research, foster collaboration, and support data‑driven policy and innovation.
